I wish I had paid more attention in my legal history lectures..

Seeing as this stupily dry essay is due next week I am now hiding out in the Canterbury Law Library which seems to me to be an appropriate venue to host some blog writing.

It seems the cabin is on hiatis at the moment. One might say this is due to us all trying to offer solidairty to Fran as she seems to be recovering from her recent bout of alcoholism...

On top of that we are all (well David and I) celebrating the fact that Eamonn has jumped on the meat free bandwagon. Clearly Eamonn is already feeling the benefits.

Melinda has returned to Timaru to take care of some business..

Yes we all know you are gun running you sneaky minx! (nice tan btw)

David's on a tea partying/ dishwashing/ lawnmowing/ anything bar studying rampage and rediscovering a new passion for picnics.. And an old passion for the laaadies..

My my who could resist?!

I sure can't! One day I'm going to make him my vegan hubbie and then maybe we'll out away for a nice little holiday to..

Yes thats right! The cabin had a wee country adventure last week and look at where we ended up?! Oh hoho it was a dream come true. Just imagine the excitement for Wellington visitor Prof. Beavis when he not only gets to complete 11 out of the 12 items on his things to do in chch (going to thelog cabin being #3) but also visits the famed SWANNANOA!! Ahwoooooooooah!

Anyways this is realy going nowhere, i'm just procrastinating and felt oblidged to make sure everyone was being kept up to date on the goings on in our humble abode. As the weekend is upon us (and it being the final one before we are back at uni *sob*) I'm sure there will be plenty more to tel soon enough..

Til then,

xo Gossip Girl (Fuck I dont even watch taht show, is that how it goes?)

a couple of random images which should have been uploaded long ago:

This was an aplology cake from Netta to Cranford Castle after our first ever visit.

Whiteboards are fun.

Monday Flat Dinner

For the last four months Melinda, T'Nealle and myself have been tending to the log cabin vege garden, in the last 2, we decided to let our courgettes grow to as big as we could... and tonight, we harvested the result.

So T'Nealle in her infinite awesomeness took over the log cabin kitchen and stuffed that marrow into the most amazing, vegan friendly, gluten free meal the cabin has seen, well... since T'Nealle last cooked us dinner.

The marrow was bigger than James' head yo!

In the glowing warmth of the fire we cabiners and our various associates sat down to dinner, even with vegan gravy in a gravy boat!

Afterwards margaritas were made, because thats how we roll in the log cabin.

Thirsty Thursday at the cabin

After deciding to call it a night and return home for a quiet one last night, Josh and myself arrived home armed with a bottle of wine and a movie... Unfortunately, half a bottle of cheap white wine was enough to fog our common sense and slowly we moved onto the vodka and then tequila accompanied by Fran and Will, (who had been doing arts and crafts in her room) David and Melinda and eventually James and T'Nealle! Throw in some poetry slams and play dough and VOILA! As you can imagine, things got rather messy by the time Matt arrived with his trusty goon! Behold the evidence which should of been destroyed! Muahahahaha!

David told us a story about being on a boat....

panda!

T'Nealle decided it was time to make us some food, of the fries variety... disco fries!

Then, in Fran's room, we got out her playdough and made an animal farm and partook in some light reading...

Then Eamonn came home, having won a lot of money off the Punks....

Dirty magazines and gamblin' money

Log Cabin group photo!

Then, as this was a log cabin reunion, Matt came round...

and we had disco fries.... and matt posted you tube videos.

Sex is destroying the world

I quite like meat, I enjoy it... Aside from days of religious observance I will enjoy it.

The flat question, is meat or sex? If you could only chose one which would you take?

I refuse to answer this.

Eamonn eats meat all day in Swannanoa.

Its only disgusting if you were expecting meat!

Eamonn: Someone should eat that hot dog
Melinda: Someone should eat that hot dog!
Melinda: Someone should have a hot beef injection
Eamonn: I'm going to have some Sparkling Duet
Fran: Fuck you Eamonn.

Just another day in the Log Cabin.
The fight against our furry friends seems to be a lost cause, but I remain determined.

Matt and Eamonn are watching the news, apparently John Key is getting a sex change.
Apparently I'm also going to hell.
Also Eamonn says if towels hadn't been invented he would have inveted them and become rich.

Another wonderful day in St Albans

Yesterday, the April edition of the St Alban News arrived. With a growing sense of pride in the suburb in which I live, I read it cover to cover. I was particularly intrigued by the Community Garden on Packe St, so I went for a walk. When I arrived, Peggy, one of the original organisers, was there, and she showed me around. It was amazing, and I was going to take Netta for an adventure there today.
It turned in to something so much better.
Fionn called, and wanted to come along. Eamonn in turn also tagged along. This was shaping up to be some fun. We wandered down Madras and picked up Henry, before dropping past the Punk Flat and grabbing Dan. There was a really cool feel - like a walking adventure school bus around St Albans. We had a look around Packe St, and then headed over to the empty lot on Caledonian Rd.
Construction workers were enjoying their lunch, so we moved on. We ran in to T'Nealle, who was going to a job interview. On Edgeware, we had a look at the site of the most important area of the S.Alb. community, the Edgeware Pool. After breaking in, we all met Peggy, who told us about the community meeting tomorrow.
She recommended Abberley Park, so we walked there past the Springfield Rd Discount Dairy. Dollar mixes were bought, as well as fearsome Grape Rampages. At the park, a good natured leaf fight broke out. Netta tried a 'leaf angel', and was rightly covered in leaves.
We were getting hungry, and had planned to get chips. After a brief free market lesson from Dan, it was determined that the neighbouring chip shops on Hills Rd were the place to go. We had a look around an empty lot on Edgeware, and contemplated making a SACKs Base there. We stopped by the Punk Flat to grab sauce and Hugh, and bought a huge Family Pack from Hills Rd Takeaways. The relative merits of the two stores were discussed, and we then headed back to Packe St. T'Nealle met us there. After our meal, the Kids of St Albans had a wee nap and looked at clouds.
I had a lot of fun today.
